Our research staff lead all research operations at the Center: recruiting families for multiple ongoing studies, collecting diverse data from children and parents, and curating it in a secure, state-of-the-art database while safeguarding participant confidentiality. Embedded into the daily clinical workflow of Soroka Medical Center’s Preschool Psychiatry Unit and Child Development Institute, they meet families at the initial diagnostic visit for autism and at annual follow-ups—streamlining recruitment and longitudinal data collection. We place particular emphasis on collecting most research measures (e.g., parent questionnaires, saliva samples, eye-tracking) during or immediately after the clinical visit. In addition, all children referred with suspected autism undergo an ADOS assessment administered by our speech-language therapists in the Center’s facilities.
